Create an Academic Program (Degree)

Create an Account for Academic Program (Degree)

 

1. Click the Accounts tab from the Navigation Bar or App Launcher.

2. Click the New button.

3. Select Academic Program An Academic Program offered at the University record type.

4. Click Next.

5. Fill in the program’s account name, and other details. 

6. Fill in a description for the program.

7. When complete, click Save.

 

 

 

Grade Settings in a Program (Degree)

 

Can use the default for the Institutions See: Grade structure setup – Institution.

If a grading structure is needed for a specific Program (Degree):

1. Click the Accounts tab from the navigation bar.

2. From the Account drop-down filter, select All Academic Programs.

3. From the accounts list select the program.

4. Click Grade Setting tab.

5. Click the New button.

6. Fill in a name and all other relevant details for this grade setting.

7. Click Save & New to enter more grade settings.

8. Repeat step 6 for the new grade setting.  Fill in a name and all other relevant details for this grade setting.

9. Click Save & New to enter more grade ranges or click Save when no more grade settings to enter.

 

 

 

Create a Program Plan Version in Academic Program

 

1. Click the Accounts tab from the Navigation Bar or App Launcher.

2. From the Account drop-down filter, select All Academic Programs.

3. From the Accounts list, select the desired Program.

4. Click Program Versions tab.

5. Click the New button.

6. Fill in the qualification version’s name, and other details. 

  • Note: Check Is Primary to designate the Plan as the one to assign to a student when creating a Program Enrollment.

7. Fill in a Fee method for the Program Version.  Checking Use Default Fee will use the default fee for this program.

8. When complete, click Save.

 

 

Mandatory Group

Create the Units of Competency – Mandatory Group

 

1. Click the Accounts tab from the Navigation Bar or App Launcher.

2. From the Account drop-down filter, select All Academic Programs.

3. From the Accounts list, select the desired Program.

4. Click Program Versions tab.

5. From the Program Plans list select the desired Program Plan.

6. Click the Program Structure tab.

7. Click the New button.

8. Select Group Represents Group type of Unit of Competency record type.

9. Click Next.

10. Fill in the Unit of Competency’s name, and other details. 

  • Note: For Category, select Required if these units are mandatory to the Program Version.

11. When complete, click Save.

 

 

Electives Group

 

Create the Units of Competency – Electives Group

 

Continuing on from previous steps for Create the Units of Competency – Mandatory Group

1. Click Program Structure tab.

2. Click the New button.

3. Select Group Represents Group type of Unit of Competency record type.

4. Click Next.

5. Fill in the Unit of Competency’s name, and other details. 

  • Note: For Category, select Optional if these units are electives to the Program Version.

6. When complete, click Save.

 

 

 

Mandatory Units

 

Create the Units of Competency – Mandatory Units

 

1. Click the Accounts tab from the Navigation Bar or App Launcher.

2. From the Account drop-down filter, select All Academic Programs.

3. From the Accounts list select the desired Program.

4. Click the Program Versions tab.

5. From the Program Plans list select the desired Program Plan.

6. Click the Program Structure tab.

7. From the Units of Competencies list select the desired Units of Competencies for the mandatory group.

8. Click the Units tab.

9. Click the New button.

10. Select Unit Represents Unit type of Unit of Competency record type.

11. Click the Next button.

12. Fill in the Unit of Competency’s name, and other details. 

  • Note: For Category, select Required if this unit is mandatory to the Program Version. 

13. When complete, click the Save button.Fill in the Requirement Logic:

  • If a student needs to meet certain requirements before they can enroll in this Unit, you can create Program Unit Requirements.
  • You can then customise Requirement Logic to say they need to complete a certain set of these Program Unit Requirements. E.g. A AND (B OR C) would mean they need to complete the Program Unit Requirement A, and one of the Program Unit Requirements B or C.

14. When complete, click the Save button.

 

 

Elective Units

Create the Units of Competency – Elective Units

 

Note: Continuing on from previous steps for Create the Units of Competency – Mandatory Units

1. Click the Program Structure tab.

2. From the Units of Competencies list select the desired Units of Competencies for the electives group.

3. Click the Units tab.

4. Click the New button.

5. Select Unit Represents Unit type of Unit of Competency record type.

6. Click the Next button.

7. Fill in the Unit of Competency’s name, and other details. 

  • Note: For Category, select Optional if this unit is an elective to the Program Version. 

8. Fill in the Requirement Logic as described above.

9. When complete, click the Save button.

 

Create the Program Pathway Structure - Full Time

 

Create the Program Pathway Structure – Full Time

 

1. Click the Accounts tab from the Navigation Bar or App Launcher.

2. From the Account drop-down filter, select All Academic Programs.

3. From the Accounts list, select the desired Program.

4. Click Program Versions tab.

5. From the Program Plans list select the desired Program Plan.

6. Click the Pathways tab.

7. Click the New button.

8. Fill in details for the new Qualification Pathway with the Study Mode set at Full Time.

9. Click the Save button.

 

Create the Program Pathway Structure - Half Time

Note: Continuing on from previous steps 1-7 for Create the Program Pathway Structure.

8. Fill in details for the new Qualification Pathway with the Study Mode set at Half-Time.  

9. Click the Save button.

 

Create Program Disciplines - Major

Create Program Disciplines – Major

 

1. Click the Accounts tab from the Navigation Bar or App Launcher.

2. From the Account drop-down filter, select All Academic Programs.

3. From the Accounts list select the desired Program.

4. Click Program Versions tab.

5. From the Program Plans list select the desired Program Plan.

6. Click the Program Disciplines tab.

7. Click the New button.

8. Fill in details for the new Program Discipline.  Select Major as Type.

9. Click the Save button.

 

Create Program Disciplines - Minor

 

Create Program Disciplines – Minor

 

Note: Repeating steps 1-5 from Create Program Disciplines – Major.

1. Click the Program Disciplines tab.

2. Click the New button.

3. Fill in details for the new Program DisciplineSelect Minor as Type.

4. When complete, click Save.
