Pathway

“A predefined learning journey towards accreditation”

Pathways are recommended guidelines in courses, academic programs, and learning experiences in order to complete the accreditation journey. Pathways in RIO Education are defined as below:

  • Each pathway can specify the number of Terms (e.g. 6 for full time, 12 for part time)
  • Each term of a specified pathway can also identify the courses (subjects) that are recommended to be taken.  This can either be a specific courses/subject or a recommended number of subjects from a particular Program Group, or a combination of Both. For example, during the first Term (Semester) of study, it is recommended one mandatory subject (BUS101) and 3 electives from the 101 elective group.
  • When a student is accepted into a Program and has specified the study mode (Full time/ Half Time etc), a copy of the defined pathway is created for them. They will be able to view their pathway when in the student community after login. Students can also view all non-pathway courses in the community and deviate from the recommendation

In RIO Education, one or more pathways can be defined for an accredited program in achieving similar qualification at the end of the journey. For example, Pathways for full time and part-time courses can be arranged differently.

The following is a sample Pathway for Master of Leadership, a full-time study course:
